Future: Encrypted Channels for NovaTrust Devices
Revolutionizing communication with advanced encryption for seamless and secure device connectivity.
In the previous article, “Building Trust in Space: SpaceChain’s Secure Authentication Solution," we introduced how the NovaTrust system (software system fitted for handset devices) ensures the security of satellite and user device keys through on-orbit encryption and secure elements.
Identity verification between devices is achieved via satellite signatures and certificate authentication. Finally, the satellite key
update mechanism enables users to independently update verification tools without relying on the service provider.
In this article, we will explain how to establish secure encrypted channels between devices using the infrastructure provided by the NovaTrust system. The key to establishing a secure encrypted channel lies in the two devices negotiating a communication key known only to them and protected from third-party interception. For enhanced security, the key must also be periodically updated to maintain the channel’s integrity.
Next, we will outline the detailed steps for establishing an encrypted channel between devices within the NovaTrust system after identity verification has been completed using certificates.
